Snowbird officially opened today! They’ve started up the chairlifts at 9am and skiers can now start making turns under the Gadzoom and Chikadee lifts. Snowbird officials hope to open even more terrain before Thanksgiving weekend, depending on any storms and colder temperatures in the forecast. Snowbird is currently charging an early-season price of $52 dollars for a day pass.
Ryan Malavolta headed up for some early season turns and snapped off these photos. Looks like good man-made coverage in the Gad Valley
There are two other Utah resorts that will open this weekend, including Park City Mountain Resort and Brian Head in southern Utah. Brian Head will drop the ropes on three runs under Chair 3, plus the Jibberace Terrain Park.
Wolf Creek in Eden, Utah already opened early on Thursday, and last week we saw Solitude and Brighton fire up the lifts. Alta’s postponement has not turned up a new opening date, though they hope it could be as early as November 25. That means after this weekend, 6 out of 13 of Utah’s ski resorts will be up and running.
