Activity: Stealing my husband’s Patagonia Nano Puff Pullover test sample.
It’s been one of those weeks where nothing in my closet is what I want to wear. Looking for inspiration, I headed to my husband’s closet and the bright yellow (golden palm) of the Patagonia Nano Puff Pullover caught my eye. Actually it’s been screaming at me for weeks to wear it. It sings, “Callista, save me. Take me outside. You’ll look so cute wearing me.” So I did. And the compliments came pouring in from other women I work with even though the version I was wearing was a men’s. Most women loved the color and the fact that this jacket wasn’t too puffy.

What I like most about this half-zip jacket is it’s not bulky. I wear layers everyday whether I’m working or playing outside. It fit perfectly over my long sleeved shirt doubled with the T-shirt I was wearing. While temperatures were hovering in the upper 20’s, it was just enough to keep me warm outside for long periods of time. But when the sun went down, I had to put on a down vest to stay insulated enough.
The Patagonia Nano Puff Pullover is made of 60-gram PrimaLoft One polyester insulation and weighs 9.4 ounces, which means it stuffs down to almost nothing and could fit inside a purse, pocket, or in the top of my backpack. Also, the cuffs and hem of the Nano Puff are elasticized to keep out the wind and trap the warmth.
The only thing I can find wrong with the Nano Puff is it isn’t as dressy looking as some of Patagonia’s other pullovers. It looks a little sloppy and disheveled (probably because it’s a men’s medium on a woman’s frame.) But as far as functionality and layerability, it was perfect for working outside. And did I mention I look great in “golden palm”, A.K.A. yellow?
Lesson: When in need of “new” clothes, just head to your husband’s closet.
