The Utah 2009-10 ski season may have been less than desirable as compared to previous years, but if one knew where to look, then lots of powder could be found in the Wasatch backcountry while the resorts looked bare as a bone.
Despite the lack of blower powder shots during epic dumps, there were still plenty of opportunities to whip out the camera and shoot video of friends having fun skiing the backcountry. Because a low snow year in Utah is still pretty damn good compared to other places, we really have nothing to complain about.
Below is a short HD video highlighting the 2010 backcountry season in the Wasatch. Locations include Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons including White Pine, Grizzly Gulch, Big Water, Mill D North Fork and Beartrap Fork. I think it conveys the joy I feel every time I ski here in Utah and hopefully it gets the message across that there is no place like the Wasatch if you’re a serious skier.

Sweet! My favorite part was the tree skiing footage. Very cool. I wish I didn’t suck at skiing…
Thanks Tristan!
