Mountain bike season in Utah is starting to gear up, which means festivals are right around the corner. TrailFest is one such gathering on the singletrack in Price.
Although Price, Utah isn’t really known as a mountain bike destination like Moab, there have, over the years, been many new trails cut and maintained by the Price Area Singletrack Society or PASS. Despite the biking obscurity in Price, word is starting to get out.
The singletrack rides, located just north of town in the “Western Book Cliffs,” are the stars of TrailFest, where PASS wants mountain bikers to check out trails like “IMBAtween,” “Therapy,” “Smokin’Joe,” “NotPete’s Rim,” and many more.
This year is the fifth year of TrailFest, and according to PASS, participants will get to “debut a whole new upper loop and a ‘kick your climbin’ ass’ ride.”
TrailFest 2010 goes down on Friday, April 30th through Sunday, May 2nd. The festival is totally free, including camping. For more information, visit their website at passtrails.com or swing on down to Price and stop by Fuzzy’s BicycleWorks bike shop where they have everything you need to ride in Utah’s Castle Country.
If you’re still not convinced to stop and mountain bike in Price on your way to Moab or Fruita, then maybe this video will change your mind. It was shot by Mike Debernardo for Park City TV in 2008. See you on the trail.
