Vernal, Utah is rising in the ranks of mountain biking towns, and there’s no better way to show off the local singletrack than by having a free festival. The Northeastern Utah Mountain Bike Association, or NUMB (also a great acronym for what happens to your ass during a long ride) will be holding the annual NUMB Fest over Memorial Day Weekend.
NUMB Fest is basically a big party on two wheels, where everyone will meet at the trailheads, split into groups based on skill level, and ride along with local bikers who know the area inside and out. It’s three days of guided rides, cookouts, and camping.
Vernal has over 300 miles of mapped and maintained trails suitable for all abilities, and the types of rides vary as much as the forest to desert landscape that surrounds the Uintah Basin. NUMB exists to promote such stellar biking in Vernal by turning it into a mountain biking destination and showing it off to those not-in-the-know at NUMB Fest.
According to NUMB Fest organizers, all mountain biking events will be held around Vernal and the Uintah Basin, there will be group rides for all ability levels, post-ride parties happen every evening, free swag will be tossed around, and there is never an entry fee.
