Snowbird was the last ski resort to close for the 2010 season in Utah, and they saw yet another 600+ inch snowfall year. So what better way is there to celebrate and kick off the summer season than by drinking beer. The 2nd Annual Snowbird Brewfest takes place on Saturday, June 19th and is sort-of the kickoff for summer activities at the resort.
Twelve different Utah breweries will be represented at the festival, including Bohemian, Desert Edge, Epic Brewing, Four+, Hoppers, Moab, Red Rocks, Roosters, Ruby River, Squatters, Uinta, and Wasatch.
Each brewery will be slinging three different sample beers to the masses and Snowbird will be providing grub at food stations so nobody is drinking on an empty stomach.
Of course, a brewfest can’t exist without live music, so Good Gravy will play from noon-2:30 p.m., The Nate Robinson Trio will play from 3-5:30 p.m. and the B.D. Howes Band will play from 6-8 p.m.
If anyone needs a break from downing suds, there are also vendor tents where you can window shop or listen to crafts-people hawk their wares… or you can buy something.
The best part about the Snowbird Brewfest (aside from the fact that you get to drink lots of craft beer, outside, in the mountains) is that it’s free! There is no admittance charge and if you’re drinking, then a 3 ounce sample costs only $1.
The 2nd Annual Snowbird Brewfest will be held at the upper circle and strip parking lots at Entry #2 from noon to 8 p.m. (beer will be sampled until 7 p.m.)
