You can almost smell winter in the air when Utah Avalanche Center Fundraisers are on the horizon. In fact, the big party at the Black Diamond Store in Salt Lake City is on September 16th, and tickets are on sale right now.
Like every year, the Utah Avalanche Center depends on backcountry users to help fund their operation so they can continue to keep you safe from avalanches with their daily safety reports and exhaustive snowpack research in Utah’s mountains.
These early-season fundraising parties are also a good way to get stoked for the upcoming ski season as you gather with like-minded skiers, free-heelers, splitboarders, snowshoers and anyone else who enjoys backcountry winter recreation. Plus, you’ll get to eat awesome Mexican food, drink beer, listen to live music, and feel good about helping support your local avalanche center.
The Utah Avalanche Center’s annual fundraiser will take place at the Black Diamond Store, located at 2084 East 3900 South in Salt Lake City on September 16th at 6pm. The event is outdoors and will happen even if it rains, blizzards or is overrun by snowmobilers.
Tickets are available at the Black Diamond Store or online at Backcountry.com, or UtahAvalancheCenter.org. Anyone under the age of 21 must be accompanied by an adult and unlike a skin track in Mill Creek Canyon, no dogs are allowed.
