Eagle Point, Utah’s newest ski resort (bringing the total to 14,) had their grand opening on Wednesday, December 15th. Skiers and snowboarders from around the state made the trip to the Tushar Mountains above Beaver to be a part of Utah ski history and be among the first to ride the lifts and make turns on the slopes during Eagle Point’s first day ever.
In its previous life as Elk Meadows, the ski resort went bankrupt eight years ago and has stood idle ever since. Luckily for Utah skiers and the people living in the small town of Beaver, private investors came in, fixed the place up, added infrastructure, and breathed new life into a once favorite ski area in southern Utah.
On Eagle Point’s grand opening day, everyone seemed stoked to check out the creamy powder on the resort’s 400 skiable acres. If you weren’t able to make the three and a half hour drive to Beaver, check out the videos below from Ski Utah and KSL.com.
