Hard to believe it’s happening, but we’re already talking about ski movies. Films produced for the sole purpose to stoke winter… uh…. stoke will soon be lighting screens up all over Utah. The major ski-movie companies have already booked their Utah dates, and some of the smaller guys have as well. It’s a yearly tradition to torture yourself at the end of summer by watching ski porn months before the snow flies, so we’ve compiled a list of all tour dates we could find. Take your pick, or watch them all – either way, you’ll be jonesing to click into your bindings despite it being 90 degrees outside.
Powderwhore Productions: “Breaking Trail”
According to Powderwhore Productions, last year they released “TeleVision”, and it was what they always thought possible for a tele flick. It had humor, beauty, powder, big lines, and a theme. The athletes absolutely crushed it, showing what is possible on tele gear. “TeleVison” was both a blessing and a curse. They truly felt they had finally put out the movie they had been trying to make for six years, so what do they do now? They decided to tackle the world of backcountry. Hopefully it won’t take them six years to put out a backcountry flick that they are thoroughly in love with, but they are excited for the challenge.

Matchstick Productions: “Attack of La Nina”
“Attack of La Niña” is a recap of one of the longest and deepest North American winters on record, served up courtesy of the worldwide weather phenomenon known as la niña. “Last winter continued to amaze us as the season went on – weather patterns relentlessly pounded the western US and Canada,” said executive producer Murray Wais. “Deep snow and epic conditions made it nearly impossible to stray too far from home, creating opportunities to go deeper into zones that we’ve explored in the past. We were able to check out some spots that we’d never even thought of as possibilities before, and the payoff was greater than we ever could have expected!”
