Even for a Salt Lake local, finding the Pavillion at the 2011 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market was tricky. But once I was there I had tons of fun meeting with a couple of the businesses in it. Bondi Band (one of my favorite headwear products ever) and GoPicnic, who makes tasty prepackaged meal for adults.
It’s been over 6 years since Bondi Band launched, with their no slip, no drip promise. The fabric used for Bondi Band comes in two different weights, heavy and light. They can be worn layered, folded over, or wide open. Bondi Band is constantly changing the fabrics, patterns, and sayings. Some of my favorites are “Suck it up, cupcake” or “I run like a girl.”
Buyers can purchase more than just headbands: there’s also hats, ponytail hats, pigtail hats, and more. You can also custom order bands for a fundraiser or group event, because they are versatile and unisex. This past July they were featured in Women’s Running. Currently they are breaking out into retailers, for the time being you can find Bondi Bands at running/triathlon expo’s or online.
GoPicnic launched last October, and can be found throughout the mid-west. These are shelf-stable meals that come in 8 different menus. Each has protein, fruit and fiber, and a sweet treat. GoPicnic meals range from gluten-free to vegan, with no artificial flavors or high fructose corn syrup. All meals are under 500 calories. There’s the turkey pepperoni and cheese, tuna and crackers, hummus and crackers, and more.
The boxes are ideal for people on the go whether camping or running off to class. Besides being sold in mid west grocery stores, Target, World Market and college campus’s across the country will be carrying these ready-to-eat meals.
