There’s a new kind of ski pass in town, and Ski Utah is giving everyone a chance to win one. The first ever Ski Utah Yeti Pass is a ticket that gets skiers one day at every Utah ski resort for the 2011/2012 season. On September 3rd, the Yeti Pass Skootch’n Dash will take place at the downtown Farmers Market for an opportunity to win a Yeti Pass and more.
Depending on which way you swing (one plank or two) participants have a choice of two events to compete in: a 1K ski boot course run, or the 50-meter snowboard skootch. The race costs $5 per-person per race, and half the proceeds will be donated to the Utah Avalanche Center. Ski Utah says space will be limited, so anyone who wants to participate should register at http://www.active.com/running/salt-lake-city-ut/yeti-pass-skootchn-dash-2011.
Racers will receive fun swag including a Squatters Big Cottonwood T-shirt, event water bottle and more. A limited number of ski boots provided by Ski’n See will also be available for those unable to provide their own equipment. Cash will only be accepted for same day registrants.
The fastest racers in each division will win prizes including Rossignol skis or snowboard, Smith Optics and other Ski Utah swag. A special award for the best costume, as judged by a panel, will be awarded a Ski Utah Yeti Pass good for one day of skiing at every Utah resort during the 2011-12 season.
So get your most crazy outfit together, grab those old ski boots, and get your spandex-clad butt down to the Farmers Market for the Yeti Pass Skootch’n Dash at September 3rd. Day-of registration starts at 9 a.m. and the race starts at 10.
