Utah’s own ski movie company, Powderwhore Productions, is going to start the ski stoke of the home crowd with screenings of their new film, “Breaking Trail” at Brewvies. Best of all, the screenings will benefit the Friends of the Utah Avalanche Center.
“Breaking Trail” is a diversion for Powderwhore of sorts. Telemarking has always been the filmmaker’s bread and butter with previous movies sporting names like “TeleVision.” But this year the ‘whores are celebrating all things backcountry, whether tele, AT or splitboard.
Filmed in the Wasatch Mountains over the course of the 2010/11 ski season (which we all know was the deepest ever,) “Breaking Trail” promises to make us relive the obscene amounts of throat-packing powder we all enjoyed nearly every day in Utah’s backcountry.
“Breaking Trail” will screen for three nights at Brewvies Cinema Pub in downtown Salt Lake City. Below are the dates and times:
Wed, Sept 28th – 7pm and 9pm Brewvies $10 21+
Thur, Sept 29th – 7pm and 9pm Brewvies $10 21+
Fri, Sept 30th – 7pm and 9pm Brewvies $10 21+
Tickets are $10 at the door. Check out the trailer:
If you need any more incentive to show up to have a beer and watch powder porn with hundreds of your closest dirtbag friends, then know that Powderwhore has also teamed up with the Utah Avalanche Center. That means if you show up and enter the raffle, you’ll be qualified to win awesome prizes like skis, boots, and a bunch of other ski gear. All raffle tickets sold will benefit the Utah Avalanche Center, so be sure to bring some extra cash, buy a bunch of tickets, and support the organization that keeps you alive and on top of the snow instead of under it.
Seeing as how Brewvies is a cinema Pub, you must be 21 and older to attend.
