All too often, action sports focus way too much on guys. Whether it’s biking, climbing or snowboarding, the world’s attention locks its gaze on the dudes, while the much better looking ladies do their thing with limited support. But there are events out there that are just for the fairer sex, like the International Ladies Shred Day at Brighton on January 14th.
International Ladies Shred Day is a world-wide event aimed at grass-roots efforts to get girls on boards. First time riders or women who need a lesson to brush up on their skills and take things to the next level can ditch the boyfriend who thinks he can teach and join a group of ladies for a fun day on the slopes.
The event offers free snowboard lessons for women, discount lift tickets, and a raffle where cool prizes will be given away. Discounted Women’s Lift Tickets will be $45 for a beginner ticket, snowboard gear rentals and lessons, or $55 for a general admission lift ticket for women who present their International Ladies Shred Day flyer at the ticket window.
At the end of the day, the party starts with a barbecue and gear giveaway under the International Ladies Shred Day tent from 4-5 p.m.
