Ever wanted to speed down an Olympic-style luge course, but didn’t have the guts (or access to the venue in Park City) to make it happen? Well, why not build you own? Karl Meltzer, a Utah ultrarunner, built his own handmade sledding luge in the Wasatch Mountains as part of his off-season training.  Damn does it look fun! Check out this video made by Thomas Martens/Pure Light Images:

It looks like a ton of work was required to not only build, but also maintain the track. It’s truly an impressive bit of snow construction that even has a tunnel! Although the video description doesn’t say where this luge run is located in the Wasatch, judging by the mountains in the background, it’s pretty obvious where you can find it.

If you do stumble upon the thing and happen to have a sled in your arms, be sure to stay safe and help keep it maintained, that is assuming it hasn’t melted by now…
