Video: STAR WARS Skiers vs Snowboarders

Star Wars is a guilty pleasure of mine, and as a child of the ’80s, I’ve been lifelong fan. Geek debates with friends over which character is the coolest, or which movie is the best was par-for-the-course, but one thing we could all agree on, is that Hoth is the most awesome planet. Why? Because the skiing is probably amazing! Well, in the video “STAR WARS Skiers vs Snowboarders” shredding snow on the frozen ice of Hoth comes to life. Brighton Resort becomes the fictional planet where Luke got bitch-slapped by a Wampa, only in this version, our Jedi hero and stormtroopers battle it out on skis and snowboards.

The video comes courtesy of Freakin’ Rad Video, and their description of the plot is simple: A crash landed X-wing Pilot on Hoth has to escape the clutches of snow troopers close on his tail, so he straps on a board and totally like shreds down the mountain! Oh wait! No way… the snow troopers totally ski after him? Is he hosed? Like I donno, but it’s a Freakin Rad video!

Indeed. Check it out below:

If anything, it’s fun to watch a Utah ski resort be used in such a creative way, and the production quality is impressive. The only thing wrong with it, (in my opinion) is that the X-Wing pilot should be on skis, and the snow troopers on snowboards, because we all know that snowboarders are the bad guys. (I kid… sorta.)
