In the race to see who can claim bragging rights as the first Utah ski resort open for the 2012/2013 ski season, Brighton wins. The Big Cottonwood Canyon resort fired up the lifts early on Tuesday morning, November 13th, to the cheers of excited skiers and snowboarders. Over four feet of snow fell in the Cottonwood Canyons, allowing all resorts to open a bit early. Solitude will open on the 14th, while Alta and Snowbird will begin operations this week.
Brighton says they opened at 9:00am with the Majestic, Snake Creek, and Explorer lifts operating.
Solitude will have Apex, Link, and Moonbeam lifts running, and lift tickets will be just $49 on opening day.
