Easton Mountain Products wowed the outdoor industry a few years back with their game-changing Kilo 2P tent. Well they’re at it again at this year’s Outdoor Retailer Winter Market with a new innovative tent called the Torrent 3P.
The Easton Torrent 3P is an all-season tent that isn’t just a winter-capable shelter, but bridges the gap between an ultralight 3-season and expedition tent. It has all the burly features of a cold-season tent like bomber stability against snowfall, dual walls to keep the wind out, taped seams, and a frame geometry that keeps the tent standing against nasty weather and sheds snow. It’s even hermetically sealed to keep blowing snow, sand and dust at bay.
You get all this, but with summer-like qualities such as ventilation, vertical sidewalls for ample headroom, dual doors so you’re not climbing all over your partner to get out, and vestibule space that can be used as storage, or stand up trekking poles to create an awning.
Add all this together with light weight materials and poles you’d come to expect from Easton, and you’ve got a tent that can do anything, anywhere. We’re really smitten by the Torrent 3p, and hope to be able to take it out on some adventures this year for testing and review. We’ll keep you posted.
