Keen has a lot of new boots and shoes that we can look forward to wearing this fall when they release new waterproof trail and insulated winter boots. Until them, it was look only at the Outdoor Retailer 2013 Winter Market.
First up is the new Alpha CNX for both men and women. It’s a waterproof, multisport shoe that is light weight, low profile, and features KEEN.Dry waterproof technology. It also has KEEN fit, which means it uses a proprietary PU midsole for tons of cushion and support.
The Depart WP CNX is a mid-top day hiker that combines KEEN.CNX performance and technology with the reliability of a light hiker. It too has KEEN.DRY technology, along with lightweight synthetic overlays that makes the these kicks able to handle wet and muddy trails. KEEN.ZORB cushioning keeps feet comfortable and supported, along with their contoured arch and proprietary lightweight PU midsole.
The big story from Keen this year is the new Marshall line of boots and shoes. The company says they fused their “tried-and-true protection and durability with lightweight technology to design the fastest hiker to date.” The Marshall come in both low and mid top versions and feature ultra-breathable uppers, 3D mesh with lightweight synthetic overlays, and a high-rebound PU midsole for efficient energy return. They also have a solid rubber, high-traction outsole that provides additional stability.
Keen also has new winter boots on deck, like the Revel II and Revel Zip. Both feature 200 grams of KEEN.WARM insulation and a waterproof, breathable KEEN.DRY membrane. Underfoot, the “Heat Trapolator” insulation technology uses a layered honeycomb design to trap and hold warm air to provide added warmth.
Socks are another big story at Keen this year with the launch of their Olympus socks. These are ultra-durable for outdoor recreation that use moisture-wicking, non-itch 22.5 micron merino wool around the ankle and calf, while the toe and heel of each sock are reinforced with Dura-Zone™, a patented high-tenacity fiber proven to be 15 times stronger that steel, meaning the wear-zones will last forever. Keen is so sure of this that each sock is guaranteed for life.
All this and more will be available this fall.
