Mystery Ranch Backpacks, based out of Bozeman, Montana, is bringing a new avalanche airbag pack into the market, and it was on display at the Outdor Retailer 2013 Winter Market.
The Blackjack is their current airbag pack, and has won favorable reviews from magazines and bloggers alike. Coming out next year is a pack so new, that they haven’t even come up with a name for it yet! The printing on the pack says it’s called the Fuze, but Mystery Ranch’s Patrick Odenbeck says that’s just a working title. This new pack is similar to the Blackjack, only it’s a bit smaller and lighter. It’s loaded with features like:
-Removeable Wary Avalanche Airbag System.
-Avy Tool Pocket to carry shovel/probe etc.
-Snow Safety Pocket to carry study kits (or maybe a flask).
-Goggle Pocket.
-Side Detail Pocket to store snacks and miscellaneous debris.
-Helmet Carry.
-Redirect Waist Belt that is easier to pull tight and is more supportive on hips and back.
-Hypolon Patch on back panel for abrasion resistance against ski and snowboard edges.
The new pack will be around 2,000cu, 7lbs, and skis can be carried either A-Frame or diagonal style.
Both the Blackjack and this new avalanche airbag pack seem to be of the highest quality, and we are drooling to get our hands on one for testing and review.
