It’s a good time to be a skier in the Wasatch! Skiers and snowboarders will have more season pass options than ever before this winter with new season pass offerings that seem to be falling from the sky like snow. A great example is that Alta, Snowbird, PCMR, and Deer Valley recently announced if you buy a season pass, then you’ll also get 3 day-passes to the other participating resorts. That’s 9 ski days that you get to explore beyond the resort boundaries you bought a pass for!
In addition, your season pass at Alta will get you 50% off day passes at a ton of other resorts including:
- Aspen/Snowmass, Colorado
- Jackson Hole, Wyoming
- Mammoth, California
- Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows, California
- Whistler Blackcomb, British Columbia
- Durango Mountain Resort, Colorado
- Red Lodge Mountain, Montana
- Homewood Mountain Resort, California
- Wachusett Mountain Ski Area, Massachusetts
- Plus discounted passes at Bridger Bowl, Montana
The surprising part is that there are absolutely zero blackout dates on any of it.
This news is just the latest in a string of season pass shenanigans announced in the past few years like the Mountain Collective, Powder Alliance, and the Epic Pass that the Canyons Resort got into after they were bought by Vail. Add slashed season pass prices from PCMR and Snowbasin, and locals have never had it better when shopping for a season pass in Utah.
Below is the full press release from the 4 participating resorts:
Alta Ski Area, Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain Resort and Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort are pleased to announce that qualifying 2013-14 season passholders at any one resort will receive three free days of lift access at each of the other three mountains in 2013-14.
This lift ticket benefit will be honored seven days a week, including weekends, throughout the season – with holiday blackout dates applying December 21, 2013 – January 5, 2014 and February 15 – 17, 2014.
Eligibility requirements for the ticket benefit are particular to each resort.
“As another step in adding value and variety for our Alta skiers, we think it is great to be able to add days of skiing at three of our fine neighboring resorts – Snowbird, Deer Valley and Park City Mountain Resort,” commented Alta Ski Area’s President and General Manager, Onno Wieringa.
“Deer Valley is so appreciative of the support from our season passholders year after year. This partnership will provide a great opportunity to thank our loyal guests and allow them more flexibility to experience the Greatest Snow on Earth®,” said Deer Valley Resort President and General Manager Bob Wheaton.
“This winter marks our 50th anniversary season, and I can’t think of a better gift to our qualifying season passholders than the opportunity to enjoy three of North America’s other iconic resorts – both right in their own backyard,” said Jenni Smith, President and General Manager of Park City Mountain Resort.
“Snowbird is proud to partner with two legendary Wasatch Mountain resorts to offer our qualifying season passholders an even better value with their pass purchases this coming winter,” said Snowbird President Bob Bonar. “With two new high speed chairlifts in two years, an increased focus on the guest experience, and this new, exciting partnership with Park City, Deer Valley and Alta Resorts, we are very excited about the coming winter in Little Cottonwood Canyon, and we hope you are too!”
Weekend access and lift privileges at four of North America’s premier resorts, all within driving distance of each other, distinguish this benefit from the snow industry’s multi-resort ticket packages and make it the Wasatch’s most exciting lift ticket benefit in 2013-14.
