For most in Utah, ski season is a few weeks away, but for a dedicated few, skiing and snowboarding started a while ago. Alta has been hammered by early-season storms, and quite the base is building up for the 2013/14 ski season.
As ski bums are wont to do, they’ve been touring up on low-angle slopes to shred some pow, despite the risk of rocks, dirt, and potential injury. Ski Utah’s Matt Baydala ventured up Little Cottonwood Canyon before Halloween, and found some deep snow and good times before the lifts start turing.
Watching this video is making me itch for snow. While I haven’t been up in the mountains yet this winter (thanks to work and travel) it’s footage like this that motivates. Alta, here I come!
