The Banked Slalom returns to Sundance Mountain Resort on Saturday, March 15th. What is a banked slalom? History tells us it’s the predecessor to boardercross and started at Mt. Baker Ski Area in Washington State. Competitors ski or board around slalom gates, but the difference is that all the turns are banked. Jumps are also thrown into the mix to add some air time to the competition.
This year’s Sundance Banked Slalom is open to both skiers and snowboarders in junior and open categories. Course inspection is from 9-10 am with the competition happening from 10:30 until 2. To register, call 801-223-4140 or visit sundanceresort.com. Registration is $25 and participants can purchase a special $20 lift ticket for the event.
