Dogs can be our most cherished outdoor companions, and as a result, they need quality gear too. Nothing is more important than a dog’s collar, both for identification and safety. But most collars are cheap fabric materials that absorb everything a dog gets into, causing then to retain dirt, smutt and stink. Enter Dublin Dog and their “All Style, No Stink” collars.
Both of our dogs, Lucy and Itchy, have been running around for several months with the Dublin Dog KOA collars. Lucy is looking dapper with the Oxford model, while Itchy looks like a true outdoorsy mutt with the Rainbow Trout pattern. What I love about these collars is the fact that they’re made from a waterproof, pliable material. Both dogs, being, you know, dogs, have rolled around in god-knows-what, dove into swampy lakes, and bushwhacked through hell and back. Through all that abuse, the collars still look like new and don’t smell like bear poop (a bad experience with Lucy’s previous collar.)
In fact, I haven’t even had to clean these collars. They shed moisture and any mud nature throws at them. They’re strong too. While I didn’t test this claim, the company says the collars have a pull strength of over 1,200 pounds. Unless you’re dog-sledding with rocks on your back, I think these collars can withstand just about anything. They’re also infused with UV inhibitors to prevent discoloration or fading. In addition to all that, Dublin Dog guarantees their collars against defects in material and workmanship.
Even the hardware is exceptional. Both the tag loops and buckles are thick and strong, with engraved lettering. Those dogs have never looked so swank.
Simply put, the KOA collars from Dublin Dog are the burliest, highest quality collars our dogs have ever worn. In the past, we’ve had to throw out collars every few months depending on the level of disgusting-ness. But I think these Dublin Dog collars may actually outlast the dogs
