When you bring your best friend along on outdoor adventures, you gotta let ’em eat and drink. The Nomad Travel Bowls from Dublin Dog are pretty much essential for any backpacking, hiking, trail running or travel excursion with your dog. I’ve been bringing the Nomad along for my dogs since last winter, and tested it out on trips ranging from backcountry ski trips in the Wasatch to backpacking in the Uintas.
Features include:
- Durable, leak-free material
- Collapsible
- Reflective 3M zipper pulls
- 1.1 liter liquid capacity
- 1.4 liter solid capacity
- Guaranteed against defects in material and workmanship
I’ve owned several collapsible dog bowls in the past, and sure, they work fine. But my main gripe is that they are always just one unit, so you’re limited in either giving your dog food or water separately, and never at once (unless you buy two bowls.) With the Nomad, two bowls zip together into a disk that’s super easy to stow in a pack. When your dog gets hungry and thirsty, unzip the disk, unfold the bowls, and you have one bowl for food and one for water right there.
The other issue I have is, for example, I’m hiking with my dog and stop for frequent water breaks which gets the bowl wet. Fast forward to that night at camp, and the dog’s food gets all soggy in that wet bowl. With the Nomad, that is no longer an issue.
The Good: Quality, durable, collapsible, two bowls in one.
The Bad: Nothing. The Nomad is the bomb.
Final Word: The Dublin Dog Nomad Travel Bowl solves all my gripes with outdoor dog bowls with no hangups whatsoever.
