One of the top ski writers of our time is coming to Salt Lake City. Porter Fox, Editor of Powder Magazine, and author of the new book “Deep: The Story of Skiing and the Future of Snow,” will speak at Westminster College about skiing, snow, and climate change.
The lecture, titled, “The End of Snow,” is part of the Common Grounds Lecture Series, sponsored by Westminster College and the Round River Conservation Studies. A veteran ski writer, Fox will discuss the 8,000-year-old sport of skiing, the miracle of snow and the possibility of how climate change could wipe out both in the next 75 years.
The event happens on November 6, at 7 p.m. at the Vieve Gore Concert Hall in the Emma Eccles Jones Conservatory on the Westminster College campus. The event is free and open to the public.
The Common Grounds Lecture Series engages the community in conversations on people, place and the environment. This sequence of speakers focus on the care of the collective ownership of land and the obligations that come with managing natural resources. This lecture is also sponsored by the Westminster Outdoor Program.
