Osprey had a few new packs and accessories on display at Outdoor Retailer, but the big news is their new line of adventure-travel bags.
As a skier who likes to take his gear to far-flung places, a good gear bag is essential. The new Shuttle Series is just what I’ve been looking for. It will come in three different sizes: 110L, 80L, and 40L. The 110 is huge! It has big wheels for rolling through the airport, sidewall compression straps, and a grab-handles on the sides. and is plenty durable for being tossed into baggage claim without damaging your valuable gear. It looks perfect for hauling ski boots, avalanche gear, climbing gear, anything and everything. For Fall ’15 there will be two sizes, a 100L and 130L which will cost $320 and $290 respectively.
Also new is this compressible day pack called… the Crushable Day Pack. It’s good for having around in case of those impromptu hikes, and it compresses down to the size of a fist.
On the biking front, the latest offering is the Syncro Series. This pack has all the usual features like hydration reservoir, bike helmet carrier etc. It will be available this spring in three sizes – a 15L, 10L, and 3L which is so small it will carry your water and not much else. Great for the minimalists out there.
