Dang, where did the season go? It’s hard to fathom that most Utah ski resorts will close very soon. In fact, a few have already stopped running their lifts. Better get up there and ski or snowboard while you can, because in mid-July you’ll all be dreaming of powder turns again (and you’ll wish you had eeked out those last few runs when you had the chance.) It’s inevitable that we will be dealing with closures, so might as well make it a party. Here’s a list of Utah’s resort closing dates, and info like parties and special events to mark the transition to spring.
Alta: 7-day-a-week closure on Sunday, April 17. Alta reopens for a final 3 days April 22-24.
According to Alta, Sunnyside and Collins lifts will be running, with Wildcat available as needed. A ski corridor off of Sugarloaf will also be open. Area Day passes will be $52. but half day passes WILL NOT be available. Children 12 & under and Sunnyside only will cost just $26. Ski After 3 will be available all three days.
The Albion Grill, Watson Cafe & Baldy Brews, Alta Java & Slope Side Cafe will be open for food and comfort stations. The Wildcat Base Alta Ski Shop, Motherlode and Alta Sports will offer retail and rental services. The Alf Engen Ski School is offering Private Lessons only for the final three days.
