Oboz has new boots, shoes, and sandals coming out this fall and spring ’17, including the company’s new foray into sandals. It was all in display at the 2016 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market. Here’s a look:
Men’s Crest Low and Mid BDry
The latest offering from Oboz is the Crest Low BDry (MSRP:$150) and Crest Mid BDry (MSRP: $165). These are technical, light, waterproof trail shoes that can handle everything from day hikes to long backpacking excursions. A ton of mesh allows for excellent breathabilty, which is also enhanced Oboz’ breathable BDry membrane. Below the uppers, there is waterproof, double strobel construction that gives the Crest a light, flexible feel. The durable, edge-to-edge Thru-Hiker outsole reduces the exposure of the midsole to wear and tear, and underneath the heel, a polyurethane plug gives resilient cushioning. Extras include speed lacing, an engineered BFit Deluxe footbed that supports the arches, and toe and heel reinforcements. The Crest Low BDry will be available in Graphite color; the Mid is offered in Gunmetal and Graphite.
Women’s Equinox and Mesa Low BDry
For the women, there are also exciting offerings. The Equinox has a streamlined outsole and women’s-specific last design. It also features an engineered BFit Deluxe insole cushion that supports the arches of the foot. On the outside, an ultra-breathable mesh upper has protective Nubuck leather overlays that give structure to the midfoot and also fend off abrasion. Finishing touches include a heel pull, toe and heel overlays for durability, a comfortable padded color and, at the heel, a stylized bitterroot, the state flower of Montana. Will be available in two colors. MSRP: $110
The Mesa Low BDry is more of a leather workhorse. Fully waterproof with Nubuck leather uppers, there is still some textile over the toe and in the tongue to help with ventilation. Toe, heel and midfoot guards add durability. The Mesa is constructed on Oboz’ women’s-specfic Madison outsole and midsole, which has a narrower footprint, and a refined profile that delivers plenty of traction. Like all Oboz footwear, a supportive BFit Deluxe insole is included. MSRP: $140
Selway and Ocoee
Oboz hasn’t made sandals in years, so it’s big news that they are coming out with their own version of a flip flop that has a high quality, arched sole. The Selway, available for men and women, is described as a traditional flip-flop, with doubled nylon-polyester webbing between the toes. Underneath the foot, single-density EVA is springy for added comfort. The shape is inspired by Oboz’ BFit Deluxe insole, and is designed to support both the transverse and longitudinal arches of the foot. Its well-defined heel cup helps center and keep the heel in place. The high friction Headwaters carbon rubber outsole delivers durability and traction. MSRP: $55
The Ocoee features a sling of soft webbing that crisscrosses the foot and wraps the big toe for a comfortable hold. It has a full-coverage, carbon rubber Headwaters outsole, which has small lugs. The footbed is cushioned EVA, with an engineered shape that supports the arches and cradles the heel, just like the BFIT Deluxe footbed Oboz includes in its hiking boots and shoes. MSRP: $55
