Do you care about preserving National Monuments in Utah, especially Bears Ears? Then attend a rally at the Utah State Capitol on Saturday, May 6th at 1 p.m. This “Monumental” rally will raise our voices to Interior Secreatry Ryan Zinke, who will visit Utah’s political leaders to discuss the future of our treasured lands.
We are certainly living in dangerous times for Utah’s National Monuments. On April 26th, President Trump issued an executive order directing Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke to review and make recommendations about the future of all National Monuments created since 1996. That includes Utah’s Grand Staircase/Escalante and Bears Ears National Monuments.
While Zinke is at the Capitol, show your support for our monuments and let him know that we cherish our public lands. Secretary Zinke has only 45 days to make a recommendation about the future of Bears Ears, and 120 days for Grand Staircase/Escalante.
Bring yourself, your friends, and your signs. If you’d like to have a #StandWithBearsEars sign, you can pick one up at Wasatch Touring (700 E 100 S, in Salt Lake City) or at the event.
