This weekend marks the inaugural event of the Camelbak Pursuit Series at Snowbasin Resort. On Friday through Sunday, August 11-13, this Northern Utah ski resort and the surrounding area will become an outdoor recreation playground and learning center for three days. Think of it as an “epic outdoor gathering.”
Activities at the Camelbak Pursuit Series include hiking, rock climbing, outdoor photography, surfing, mountain biking, stand up paddle boarding, camp cooking, wilderness first aid, trail running, kayaking, backcountry navigation, and more. It’s all beginner to expert trips with like-minded folks, guided by instructors who will be on-hand to teach and challenge. All the gear you’ll need to try an activity will be provided – you only need to bring yourself, and appropriate clothes for the weather/activity.
In addition to the outdoor fun, there will be an open bar serving up cocktails, craft beer and wine. All meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are included. In the evenings, the tribe will gather for nightly socials, campfires, and live music.
The schedule is yours to customize with one-day or three-day passes. A 1-day pass costs $225 and a 3-day will run you $599.
Sound expensive? Organizers want you to think of it this way: A single surf or rock climbing lesson will typically cost you at least $100. But the 3-day pass enables you to take several expert-led lessons and field sessions each day. And then they throw in all of your meals, coffee, alcohol, music, and a welcome bag filled with $300+ worth of products.
There are even camping (and glamping) options if you want to stay overnight.
The idea behind this event is to create an “immersive experience that is convenient, encouraging, and just plain fun.” You can fill your days with every conceivable outdoor adventure, and learn from experts during field sessions about first aid, wilderness survival, photography, astronomy and more. Then you can unwind after a day on the mountain or lake chilling with your newfound friends around the campfire, listening to music, while enjoying the open bar.
There has never been an outdoor event quite like the Camelbak Pursuit Series (that I know of) so take advantage and sign up. Spots are filling fast.
