It’s that time of year when ski films are rolling through Salt Lake City. While Warren Miller and the Ascent Slide Show, plus This is Home by Faction have already dropped, you’ll have another chance to get stoked on winter. On Sunday and Monday, October 22 & 23, pair local beer with your ski porn at the SLC premiere of the Numinous ski film, screening at Fisher Beer.
WHAT IS NUMINOUS?
The Numinous ski film is produced by Dendrite Studios and stars Kye Peterson and friends. The camera follows these pro skiers as they descend big lines on remote peaks in British Columbia. According to the filmmakers, “Numinous” explores the relationships and connections with the natural world that are necessary to safely dance with mountain faces covered in snow. It’s about tuning out the real world and tuning into the mountains, listening as they speak.
The film also features big riders like Matty Richard, Logan Pehota, Pep Fujas, Ryland Bell, Tatum Monod, Chris Rubens, Callum Pettit, Dane Tudor, and Wiley Miller.
Brought to you by Fisher Beer and 4FRNT Skis, Numinous will screen two nights at the brewery. Fisher Beer is located at 320 W. 800 S. in Salt Lake City.
Purchase tickets in advance at Fisher Beer to guarantee a seat. The cost is $10 and only 125 will be sold for each night. According to show organizers, the screening will be outdoors. Because it might be cold, dress warm with your puffy, hat and gloves. Also, heat lamps will be on and beer keeps your belly happy too.
Prior to the Numinous ski film premier, a 12-minute documentary produced by 4FRNT about ski touring in Alaska will be also be shown.
Both the Sunday and Monday events begin at 7:30 p.m.
