Beer and skiing go together like peanut butter and jelly, peanut butter and chocolate, peanut butter and… whatever else peanut butter goes well with. So it’s always exciting to hear about a new beer release, especially when that beer is ski-themed. Bohemian Brewery has whipped up a seasonal batch called Solitude BrewSKI.
Solitude BrewSKI
BrewSKI is described as a mountain lager and was made just for Solitude Mountain Resort. The beer is a German-style lager that comes in at a typical Utah ABV of 4% with ideal flavors for post-ski drinking. The label features Solitude’s terrain, and of course the name is rad as hell for a ski-inspired beer.
I got to enjoy a sneak-taste of BrewSKI at The Thirsty Squirrel in the Solitude Village. The flavor is very much a German beer, with sweet malts dominating the taste and mouthfeel. Bavarian-style hops give it a nice bite yet the beer is very easy to drink and is quite refreshing. It’s easy to tell that BrewSKI is made by Bohemian, because it’s totally their style. I will definitely be picking up some six-packs for post-skiing tailgate sessions for the remainder of the season.
BrewSKI will be available on local beer taps and in cans on store shelves very soon.
