Ski season is almost here in Utah, but down in South America, they’ve been skiing powder for the last few months. And Utah-based Patagonia Ski Tours was there guiding clients all over the Patagonian Andes of Argentina. As friend of UtahOutside.com, lead guide Justin Lozier along with guide, Sean Zimmerman-Wall, took us on a “friends tour” a few years ago where we skied the backcountry of Catedral Alta Patagonia, Refugio Frey, and enjoyed cat skiing at Baguales Mountain Reserve. It was a massively fun time and Patagonia Ski Tours was instrumental in making it happen.
For 2015, the company just released a new video showing off the ski experience in Patagonia. Featuring highlights from the 2015 season, it shows everything you’d get to do on one of these trips – from skiing big mountains to chilling at backcountry huts. But a trip to Patagonia is more than that. It’s also about immersing yourself in the culture, getting to know the locals, and eating copious amounts of beef and drinking ungodly volumes of Malbec wine and Fernet Branca con Coca. Check it out:
