Mountain biking the bobsled – say this and riders immediately think of the Bobsled downhill in the foothills of Salt Lake City. But the UOP Bobsled is located at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City. No, you don’t ride your bike down the actual bobsled track. But the UOP Bobsled, a relatively new, 6.4-mile…

Mountain biking the Park City Super Epic Loop
Park City is an IMBA Gold Ride Center. With over 450 miles of trail accessible from town, you can create a ride for any length or skill level that your mind can conjure up. One such ride is what I like to call the “Park City Super Epic Loop.” This ride is not to be…
Mountain biking Jenni’s to CMG Loop at Park City
The network of trails in Park City is immense. With over 400 miles of singletrack interwoven on the mountainsides above town, it can be difficult to figure out a good loop for a quick ride. One of my go-to rides is the 12-mile-long, Jenni’s to Crescent Mine Grade (CMG) loop. This ride features an easy,…
Park City spring MTB trails report: May 2016
While the riding is primed in the Salt Lake valley, more and more riding in Park City is beginning to open up. While not nearly the 400+ miles of singletrack are open yet, a few key areas are perfect for getting your legs ready for a summer of riding. Mind you, there is still plenty…
Submit your photo for the 2016 Park City trail map
Park City’s trail system is huge. With over 400 miles of IMBA Gold level certified trails for mountain biking and hiking, there is really no place like it anywhere else in Utah. From Glenwild, to Deer Valley, Summit Park and everywhere in between, the spiderweb of singletrack can be confusing, so if you’re new to…

Jones was killed in an avalanche in the backcountry just outside the resort boundary. According to the Utah Avalanche Center, the avalanche occurred on the Rips Ridge/Pointy Peak area…
Utah ski resort upgrades for 2015/16 season
Utah’s ski industry is about to have it’s biggest year ever, at least in terms of infrastructure upgrades. What does this mean for everyday skiers? More of everything – more lifts, more terrain, and more lodges. According to SkiUtah, over $100 million in on-mountain capital improvements will debut at Utah’s 14 resorts. Of course the…
Mountain Biking Tidal Wave at Deer Valley
Back in the 1990s, the mountain bike trails at Deer Valley used to be state-of-the-art. But the years went by with little to no improvements. Meanwhile, mountain bike technology went through the roof. Fast forward to the present, and competing Utah resorts like Canyons stepped up with modern bike parks. Well, those days of being…
Fall mountain biking in Park City
Crunch, crunch, crunch. Ah yes, there is snow on the ground, it’s a brisk 34 degrees this morning, and I’m wondering just why in the hell I am up so early in this cold fall weather. It feels like winter but it’s not – the leaves are a shimmering yellow in the morning sun and…
Run-A-Muk at Kimball Junction dog trail
I’m always asked the question, “where can I hike with my dogs off leash?” Well, there’s a new hiking trail in Kimball Junction near Park City that’s just for dogs to run and wander free. The Run-A-Muk trail opened last year below the Utah Olympic Park, and it’s since become a popular hangout for pooches…
