Anthill Films, the action sport storytellers who specialize in mountain bike movies with very high production quality, has a new movie coming out in May called, “Strength in Numbers.” The Wasatch Area Freeride Trails Association, or WAFTA, is hosting the Salt Lake City premiere of “Strength in Numbers,” at Brewvies Cinema Pub in downtown Salt Lake.
“Strength in Numbers” is a film that strives to bring all disciplines of mountain bikers together, whether downhill, all mountain, freeride, slopestyle, or cross country. According to the film’s synopsis, the world of mountain biking “is a disjointed network of seemingly similar but disconnected communities.” It is a “sport of individuals, equally defined by their many differences, as the common threads that bind.” It goes on to say that, “while our story doesn’t follow a straight line, we all end up in the same place. Tire to ground, foot to pedal, hand to bar – communities drawn together by trails of dirt. The film captures a true way of life, from the world’s best pros to those who are just learning to love the sport.”
The film was shot over the course of two years, and the filmmakers traveled all over the world to shoot in local mountain bike meccas like British Columbia and Utah and exotic far flung locales like Nepal.
There will be two screenings on May 7th at Brewvies, one at 7:00 p.m. and another at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are expected to sell out fast, so be sure to purchase early. All proceeds collected at the event will go directly to local trail building here in the Wasatch.
So celebrate the start of mountain bike season right. Get together with your fellow riders, drink microbrewed beer, and watch a sick film while helping a good cause. Plus, Go-Ride and Dakine will be giving away mountain bike gear that will be raffled off.
You can purchase tickets at Go-Ride, located at 3232 South, 400 East Suite 300 in Salt Lake, or at Brewvies on the day of the show. You can also purchase them from WAFTA using PayPal. Click here for the 7:00 show and here for the 8:30 show.
