The I Street dirt jumps in Salt Lake City have been in the news lately, as this hugely popular and regionally well-known urban mountain bike area is under threat. This site, which was built by dedicated riders on city property, may be torn out to make way for new water tanks. The Wasatch Area Freeride Trails Association (WAFTA) is working to preserve the dirt jumps for the enjoyment of everyone. Well, the video “Big Sick Mountain Biking Jumps” pretty much illustrates the point of why these sculpted mounds of dirt should stay in place.
The video, created by gbrucewilson, shows off the I Street dirt jumps scene in all it’s high-flying spectacle, complete with steep jumps that toss riders into the air, banked corners, and even some glory shots of Utah’s own Fezzari Bicycles. Think water tanks would be more exciting to look at than what you see in he video below? Time to check your pulse.
