Spring is here in Utah, and with it comes rain. I hate being outside in the rain, but it’s often a necessity. Gotta’ walk the dogs, rain or shine. Ducking from the car through parking lots in a downpour happens often. And if the skies are releasing a light drizzle, then I’ll take a hike or go camping anyway, as long as I have a good rain shell to keep me dry. Plus, I like to look stylie but most rain shells are boxy and ugly. Good thing the Mountain Hardwear B Line Parka not only keeps the rain out, it’s also very fashionable.
The Mountain Hardwear B Line Parka has all the new technical features found in rain jackets these days. It features Dry Q® 45D 2 5L Ripstop fabric that is waterproof and breathable. It also has a two-way front zipper, adjustable hood that stows in the collar, internal storage pocket, and a long hem for extra butt coverage.
After spending a few rainy days wearing the B Line Parka, here’s what I like the most about it:
- The side hand-pockets are really cute with a buttoned flap that closes them off when not in use.
- The long hem in the back covers my butt (there’s nothing worse than a wet butt). Plus it sheds water better as it drizzles down my back, keeping my pants more dry.
- It’s not the typical rain jacket style. It has a very feminine & slim cut, a trench coat style waist tie, and sleek design.
- Because of the stylish design, I would be willing to wear this jacket out in the city and not feel like a hardcore dressed to summit a mountain in a hurricane.
My only complaint is that the hood feels a little small. I like to have more head coverage during heavy rain, especially if I’m doubling up with a hat.
Overall, I recommend the Mountain Hardwear B Line Parka for any women who need a technical rain shell with all the bells and whistles, but insist on adding a little style to the mix. Just because we’re not necessarily trekking through a rain forest in South America, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t have the latest fabric technology in a more casual-looking shell.
