Discrete is back with their mountain race, the Cirque Series. The first race took place at Deer Valley in June, and the type-1 fun continues at Alta on July 15th.
Formerly known as the Discrete Peak Series, the Cirque Series is much the same – trail runners start at the base of a ski resort, then run/hike/crawl up mountainsides, ridges, and glacial cirques to a mountaintop. From there, it’s a go-as-fast-as-your-quads-will-let-you descent back down to the base where a party is going off. Live music, good food, cold drinks and outdoor gear vendors awaits for runners and spectators alike.
Winners get a cash prize, but really, the reward for any runner is to enjoy the race, take in the view, challenge oneself, and hang out with like-minded mountain friends.
Below are the remaining Cirque Series events:
Alta – July 15
Arapahoe Basin – July 29
Alyeska Resort – August 12
Snowbird – August 26
