What’s your favorite music venue? I’ll bet you’ve never seen a show inside the Snowbird Tram. The Frontside Sessions is a live music series that will be set in one of the smallest, most intimate venues ever.
What is the Frontside Sessions?
According to a press release, the Frontside Sessions seeks to encourage people to vote for leaders who support positive action on climate change, which directly threatens the future of snow sports and outdoor recreation. As greenhouse gas emissions rise, winters have become shorter, snowpack is diminishing and more frequent wildfires are threatening ski towns. A recent study found that of 19 past Winter Olympics host cities, half or fewer will have weather conditions by 2050 suitable for hosting again.
The Frontside Sessions will feature alternative indie rockers Magic Giant, recently named by Rolling Stone as one of the “10 Artists You Need to Know,” and independent rocker Ron Pope, who recently hit 200 million streams on Spotify and 630 million Pandora plays. Each artist will perform an acoustic mini-concert to an intimate audience of about 80 inside one of Snowbird’s trams.
Magic Giant will perform on January 31st, and Ron Pope will rock the tram on February 10th. Other artists and showtimes will be announced soon.
