My 3-year-old son hates wearing his ski goggles. So when I take him up to Solitude for some laps on the Link and Moonbeam chairs, I can only get away with putting sunglasses on his little face. But the problem with kid’s sunglasses? They’re cheap. I have numerous doubts as to how well they protect my kid’s eyes from UV rays. Plus, they’re very prone to being broken. Enter the Sunski Mini Headland sunglasses.
Sunski is a small and fairly new sunglasses company based in San Francisco. They’re known for producing environmentally-friendly shades made from recycled materials. The eye wear is also very trendy, utilizing classic ’80s designs but with modern, polarized lenses.
So it’s great to see a company producing sunglasses with actual UV protection and quality materials, only smaller in size for kids. The Mini Headlands feature polarized lenses with 100% UV protection. The frames are made from a very light weight plastic that is flexible. They fit kids ages 5-11, but my 3-year-old’s big noggin wears them just fine.
What more is there to say? I’m now confident that my son’s eyes are protected against the sun reflecting off the snow. Plus I’m happy that I have a quality option for him to wear when goggles are an emphatic, tantrum-inducing no-go. And when he’s rocking his Sunskis, my boy is one cool dude.
