The weekend of March 20-21 will be a fun one at Snowbasin as a Winter Carnival and Retro Day are scheduled to take over the resort to benefit the Snowbasin Adaptive Sports Education Foundation (SASEF).
On Saturday, a Winter Carnival will feature fun activities for the family including a tubing hill ride, mini snow golf, blindfold ski shuffle, long ski stomp, snow bowling and a snow sculpture contest. The activities are all designed to educate people about the world of adaptive skiing and snowboarding. Tickets are $15 in advance at $20 the day of the event and include food, music and more.
Then on Sunday, March 21, Snowbasin travels back in time for Retro Day. Every spring, skiers get all ironic and dress up for end-of-season celebrations, but Snowbasin is making it official. Everyone skiing and snowboarding at the resort is encouraged to dress in retro ski clothes and gear. And if the only ski stuff you have is from the 80’s, then for a $5 donation to SASEF you can demo new gear that will bring you into the now. A DJ will be on hand spinning classic tunes on the patio, and a costume parade for prizes will highlight the day at 3pm.
All money donated at this weekend’s events will help SASEF raise funds to purchase additional adaptive equipment and programs. For information on Winter Carnival tickets or SASEF, call (801) 620-1116.
