In case you didn’t know, May is officially “Bike Month” in the state of Utah. That means that almost every day, there is something going on in the state that has to do with what everyone loved to do at some point in their lives… ride bikes. Although we’re almost halfway through the month of May, there’s still tons of events and gatherings to look forward to.
Every Friday night riders can take part in “bicycle benefits.” It pretty much involves getting free stuff from a store if you ride your bike to it. On May 21st, you get a free slice of pizza at Este and on May 28th it’s free chapstick at Whole Foods.
Other events include the UTA Bike Bonanza, the National Bike to Work Day, bicycle repair workshops, century rides and a BCC SuperSeries at Antelope Island.
All of this is meant to encourage Utahns to get outside and ride a bike, whether for commuting to work, riding for enjoyment or killing your legs on an epic road race. For a complete list of Utah Bike Month events or to submit your own, visit the website at www.utahbikemonth.org
