Brighton Child Care – this may be the saving grace for skiers and snowboarders who are married with children. It’s a sad fact of mountain life, but nothing kills the ability to ski or snowboard whenever you want like having kids. You may think you can swing it, but inevitably one spouse has to watch the little one while the other hits the hill (powder day coin-flip anyone?)
This same sad fact also means skiing together is even more impossible. But someone has seen the light and is now offering child care in Big Cottonwood Canyon at Brighton.
Starting this season, a Utah State licensed day care center will be open at the start of the Brighton loop and will operate from 8:30am to 4:30pm during ski season.
Every employee will have a full background check, will be CPR certified, trained in childhood development and will meet all Utah State requirements.
The Brighton child care center will also be more than just paying someone to keep an eye on the kids. The center will work closely with the Brighton Ski School to offer ski school lesson drop off and pick up.
Reservations will be required, but the center says walk-in visits may be accommodated on a day to day basis.
Different options will be offered to parents with wither half-day and full-day options. It’s not just for toddlers either. Children 6 weeks old and up can hang out at Brighton’s base while mom and dad go play in the powder.
And if you plan on skiing a lot thanks to this new service, multi-day discounts will be available. But simple day rates run from $55 to $120 depending on age, length of stay and time of year. For more specific information, visit brightonchildcare.com.
So have the children been keeping you off the slopes? Now at least you have some options starting this ski season.
