Moab gets spooky around Halloween, especially when the bike freaks descend upon the town for the Moab Ho-Down Bike Fest. Brought to you by the Chile Pepper Bike Shop, the Moab Ho-Down is being called, “the greatest mountain bike festival EVER!” Organizers will be able to back up that bold claim during Halloween weekend when the fest goes down from October 28th through the 31st.
Organizers also claim the Moab Ho-Down Bike Fest is now 33% bigger this year… technically that’s true as this time around the event expands from three days to four. More time for desert debauchery, more time to dress up in costumes and drink, and more time to ride your bike with like-minded gearheads.
New this year is the Moab Ho-Down’s first ever mountain bike film festival. If you and your buddies have been taking a camera along on your rides this year, and put a movie together that mom would be proud of, then everyone in Moab seems to want to see it. If not, then you can just revel in someone else’s shaky-cam world on Thursday the 28th when amateur shorts and a feature length film will screen at Star Hall beginning at 8pm.
Then on Friday the 29th, the much anticipated film “Life Cycles” will premiere at Star Hall. Get your tickets at the Chile Pepper Bike Shop.
Of course the main reason for the fest is the bikes, and all the usual fare will take place including a Super D and downhill race, a townie bike tour, dirt jump competitions and the ever present costume parties on Halloween. As an added bonus, the Pumpkin Chuckin’ Festival is happening at the same time, at the same place.
