Salt Lake City musicians are featured in the soundtrack of a new ski movie from Telemark Magazine called, “The Freeheel Life 2: Hippies, Punx & Misfits.” The film was made by magazine editor Josh Madsen and is now on a fall, 50-date national tour that will make a stop in Utah on October 14, 15, and 16.
According to Telemark Magazine, the film “explores the full timeline of telemark skiing history, from its roots in Norway and subsequent reemergence in the United States in the 1970s to its modern manifestations. The film features appearances from legendary veterans Tom Carter and Doug Robinson, in addition to a number of forward thinking freeheelers including Candy Froerer, Weston Deutschlander and Ty Dayberry.”
Utah is also featured heavily in the film as much of it was shot here in our backyards. Other locations include Norway, Alaska and California.
Madsen says viewers can expect plenty of Telemark action. In scenes both on and off-piste, the film showcases the sport’s most progressive moves and boldest descents. Says Madsen, “The powder is deep, the lines are breathtaking, and it’s all mixed with an inspiring soundtrack from Salt Lake City musicians.”
So who are those Salt Lake City musicians? Well, there’s a bunch, including:
Cameron Rafati
Band Of Annuals
Blackhounds
The Wolfs
Mason Jones & The Get Togethers and
Josh Madsen
