The Ryders Eyewear booth at the Outdoor Retailer 2011 Winter Market was pretty much a party atmosphere, and for good reason. The company is celebrating their 25th birthday, and the occasion was marked with neon headbands, mullet wigs, hillbilly teeth, and cheesy music set to a backdrop of a ’70s style basement complete with wood paneling, vintage ski posters, and overstuffed couches. Of course there were some new sunglasses and even goggles to look at, but first, the steezy dudes at Ryders Eyewear:
And on with the sunglasses…
The Seeker are multi-sport sunglasses with semi-rim frames and full coverage lenses. It has a shape the hugs close to the head and stays on during high-impact activities with hydrophilic nose pads and temple tips. Available in a variety of colors and lens styles, including these with photochromic/polarized lenses.
The Chops sunglasses are full framed and fat. Ryders describes them as, “probably the only chunky model on the runway.” But even though they’re fat, doesn’t mean they don’t look good, especially these funky camo designed frames. These glasses are pretty much meant for chilling with a beer rather than dodging trees on the singletrack.
Goggles are also on the new-product menu with the mountain bike specific Shore and Banger goggles. These goggles are designed to fit specifically on full-face helmets, and features air-intake vents that prevent breath (therefore fog) from getting behind the lens. The Shore is a double-lens version to the single lens Banger.
