Face it – not everyone has Chaco feet. It’s true, but some folks just don’t find Chaco sandals and shoes to be very comfortable due to the shape of their foot. I know this is a fact, because my wife is one of them. But Chaco has heard their cries, so they’ve designed new sandals and shoes to give Chaco comfort to everyone. This new line of footwear was on display at the 2011 Outdoor Retailer Summer Market, and will hit store shelves this spring.
First up is the Chaco Updraft Bulloo. It looks like the typical Unaweep or Yampa designs we all know and love, but it’s a different style altogether with a softer footbed. They call it their new TPU frame with ergonomic support posts for a light-weight fit. It features the LUVSEAT X03 platform and a Vibram Bulloo Outsole.
Next up is a cross between a sandal and a shoe called the Chaco Ponsul Bulloo. This shoe/sandal hybrid is essentially the Updraft Bulloo with a molded TPU toe bumper with an integrated softshell sock. They are aimed at water enthusiasts looking for the protection of shoes but with the same ability to shed water as a sandal. What’s especially cool is the polyester webbing is just as adjustable as the sandal version.
Keeping with the sandal to shoe track, here’s an honest-to-God-shoe from Chaco called the Vade Bulloo. It keps the same footbed as the sandals, but with a mesh and suede leather upper. Imagine, a shoe with the comfort of the Chaco footbed. It will be available this spring in both men’s and women’s styles and in multiple color options.
Finally, Chaco goes way beyond their classic image with the Tedinho Pro. River runners on epic expeditions have asked for something like this, and Chaco has answered. The Tedinho Pro is a polyester canvas boot that has a sticky rubber outsole, full front bumper, and the ability to shed water after they get wet in the rapids. Wear these in the boat and on dry land, and you’re good to go without stopping for an outfit change.
Look for all these new sandals and shoes from Chaco to be released to the Chaco-loving public in spring of 2012. For more about Chaco, visit them online at www.chacos.com
