Rock climb Indian Creek? Want to volunteer to help work at the crags for a good cause while also partying with fellow climbers? Then spend the weekend with the Monticello BLM and Friends of Indian Creek for National Public Lands Day.
On Saturday, September 24th, the Indian Creek Special Recreation Area will transform from a crack climbing mecca to a place of volunteerism from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. to benefit Friends of Indian Creek. Everyone will be working at the crags that day, and will have an evening social in the Donnelly parking area that night.
Events include slide shows, snacks, and a volunteer raffle with gear prizes donated by Camp USA, Petzl, Black Diamond, prAna, Patagonia, Sterling Rope, Eric Odenthal Photography, Whit Richardson Photography and local gear shops! (You must volunteer to be in the raffle, so sign up now! Every hour you work gets you more raffle tickets!)
Of course, aside from the loads of community service, there will be a ton of rock climbing going on with hundreds of your closest friends. To sign up for this great cause or if you have a particular project in which you’d like to assist in, visit the Indian Creek Clean-Up day & Friends of Indian Creek Evening Social Facebook Page.
