It has been an unusually warm season this year in Utah, but winter must go on! While it may feel more like spring, there are still ways to get into the winter spirit, like at the Bryce Canyon Winter Festival during Presidents Day Weekend.
The 2012 Bryce Canyon Winter Festival has snowy activities and competitions for everyone willing to bundle up and play outside in one of Utah’s most beautiful national parks.
Take your pick and participate in:
* Cross country ski tours
* Snowshoe tours and races
* Archery clinic
* Ski Archery competition
* Kayaking demos
* Waxing clinics
* Photography clinics
* Photo contest
* Snow sculpture contest
* People-powered sled race
* Kids snowboot races
* Entertainment
In addition to all that, there will be free clinics where you can learn a new snow sport, participate in demos, and enjoy tours of the surrounding landscape which many consider to be more beautiful in the winter as white snow contrasts against the red rock hoodoos and cliffs that fill Bryce Canyon with breathtaking scenery. And considering that our winter this year has been less-than-normal, Bryce Canyon Winter Festival organizers assure us that the festivities will happen, regardless of snow (or lack thereof.)
The Bryce Canyon Winter Festival takes place on February 18, 19 and 20 over Presidents Day Weekend and will happen at Ruby’s Inn just outside the park. Once again, Ruby’s Inn is hosting the event.
Ski archery competition takes place on Sunday and the Cross Country ski races on Monday. If you would like to participate or would like more information, Call: (435) 834-5341 or 1-866-866-6616.
You can also find more info at the Ruby’s Inn website.
