5. Salomon revolutionizes running at Outdoor Retailer 2012 Summer Market
Cool new gear is always popular at Outdoor Retailer, and it seems what’s new from Salomon was really popular. We showcased their new and revolutionary running gear back in August, and focused on the Hydro S-Lab Set. It’s a soft flask that ranges from 150-1,000ml, and is secured by stretchable straps. We demoed a pair and found them to be by far the most fun, giggle-like-a-school-girl party on two planks. The Automatic would be a killer, one-quiver ski. In fact, they’re so easy to ski, the name of the skis make perfect sense… they allow you to ski, “automatic.” Read full article…
1. Salomon Guardian 16 backcountry binding review
The most viewed article from 2012 is our review of the Salomon Guardian 16 backcountry binding. Our readers were very curious about this new binding design and it’s amazingly easy walk/ski mode switch. The bindings also have an alpine look and feel, which makes them a do-everything binding from back and side country tours and in-bounds ripping. While the weight and style of this binding won’t appeal to the light-and-fast touring crowd, anyone who is looking for a one-binding quiver will find it in the Salomon Guardian 16 and it’s cousin the Atomic Tracker.
